Method:
- Soak the red kidney beans overnight so that they turn tender
and big. Wash the pulses with running water.
- In a pressure cooker, add olive oil. When the temperature
rises, add chopped onions, sauté them for a while till they turn nice and
pink in color. Now add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies, salt, coriander
powder and turmeric powder. (You can even use ginger and garlic pieces
too.)
- Sauté it for 3-4 minutes. After this add the chopped tomatoes
and cook till the mixture leaves oil.
- Now add to it garam masala and red chili powder and give it a
good mix.
- Finally add the soaked beans, washed pulses and water (around 4-5
cups). Put the lid of the pressure cooker on and after it whistles for the
first time, cook it on simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Turn of the gas. Garnish it with cream, butter and fresh
coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with bread/roti/tandoori roti/naan.
- Happy CookingJ.
