SHAHI PANEER

Method:

  1. Take onions, cut it into two halves. Peel off garlic and tomatoes. Cut green chilies and keep them all aside.
  2. Put all of these in a grinder, add curd and blend it in the form of puree.
  3. Take a cooking pan and add 2 tablespoon oil.
  4. When it heats up, add dhaniya powder and turmeric powder. Immediately add the above puree in it.
  5. Cook on simmer and stir it continuously.
  6. In the mean while, boil your peas and keep it aside.
  7. Now, it’s the turn for making the filling of paneer.Take a pan add some oil(1 tablespoon).
  8. Add chopped onions and garlic. Sauté for a while until it turns into nice pink color.
  9. Now add dhaniya powder (1 teaspoon), salt (to taste), turmeric powder (1/4 teaspoon), red chili powder and garam masala and then peas.
  10. Mash the peas while stirring in the pan.
  11. Keep it aside.
  12. Hey don’t forget about the gravy. Keep on cooking it until it leaves oil on the surface and its color will change into a nice and shiny orange.
  13. Cut the paneer into thick pieces. Add the filling inside it and keep it aside.
  14. As soon as your gravy is ready, add salt, red chili powder and garam masala.
Add cashew nut paste if want to have that rich creamy taste. (it’s not necessary though).As an alternative you can add the Shahi paneer masala( 1 teaspoon),it has everything amchur, kaju paste, imli pulp etc…
  1. Now add 1 tablespoon fresh cream and 1 tablespoon yellow butter.
  2.  Finally add the paneer pieces into it. If the peas’ filling is still left, you can add that in your gravy also.
  3. Garnish it with kasuri methi and serve hot with naan or parantha!!
